Память воинов-земляков, павших на полях сражений в годы Великой Отечественной войны, почтили сегодня у городских мемориалов.

В этом году, впервые за последние три года, праздничные мероприятия в честь Дня Победы проводятся в очном формате. Напомним, что последние несколько лет из-за пандемии коронавируса количество людей на подобных праздниках было ограничено, и не все сокольчане могли принять участие в организованных шествиях к мемориалам. Ко всеобщей радости, заболеваемость COVID-19 пошла на спад и все желающие смогли сегодня почтить память воинов-земляков.

Почетными гостями ежегодно становятся ветераны Великой Отечественной войны, труженики тыла, вдовы солдат и дети войны. По традиции, в митингах приняли активное участие воспитанники детских садов и учащиеся школ города, работники промышленных предприятий, общественники, а также сотрудники муниципалитета и депутаты Совета города Сокола.

Подобные митинги в преддверии Дня Победы – это традиционная дань памяти. В этот радостный и одновременно горестный день мы вспоминаем всех тех, кого нет сегодня с нами: кто погиб в первые минуты, часы, дни войны, кто не выжил от холода и голода в блокадном Ленинграде, тех, кто пал смертью храбрых на полях сражений под Москвой, Сталинградом, Курском, Берлином. Мы вспоминаем всех, кто пропал без вести, кто страдал под пытками в фашистских лагерях, вспоминаем наших земляков-сокольчан, наших отцов, дедов и прадедов, отдавших свою жизнь за наше мирное и счастливое будущее.
